Here are some of the things we do through out a year.
Iowa Veterans Hospital:
Twice a year we take cookies.
Take Christmas Cards to them to send to their family and friends.
Iowa Veterans Home:
Twice a year take cookies.
Donate to the Gift Shop and work for it at Christmas Time.
Donate muffins and work at their Ice Cream Social.
Once a year we are hostess for the Women's American Legion Auxiliary Fellowship and take
gifts for their bingo games.
We Participate In:
Memorial Day and Veterans Day Services
Poppy Fund by making corsages to distribute during Poppy Days and at Memorial Day
service at the Atkins Memorial Hall
Carry Flags the opening ceremonies at the Benton County Fair
Community Service:
Give two Scholarship Award once a year.
Make potato salad for the Firemen's Picnic.
Thing we donate to:
Benton Community School Post Prom Party
Community Club Easter Egg Hunt
Woman's Club Halloween Party
The Atkins Newsletter
If we know of a needy family we help them out.
In March we give the American Legion a birthday party and give them some money for
a project that they may have.
We Also Donate To:
Our Department President's Projects.
Our 3rd District President's Project
For Our Own Auxiliary Members:
We send get well, baby, sympathy, wedding anniversary for 50th, 55th, and 60+ cards to
our members.
Donate to the Atkins Library in memory of our deceased member.
We remember our Service men and women at Christmas with a card and a book of stamps.
Our Making Money Projects:
In November we serve Soup and Sandwich Luncheon at the hall during the Craft Show.
In March we serve the Firman's Dinner.
We Have Hospital Equipment That May Be Borrowed
2 wheelchairs, 3 walkers, 2 set of crutches, 1 receptacle, 1 tub rail and 1 hospital bed
